Treatment Protocol
- 1Home Remedy
Apply Dimexide (liquid form, not gel in a tube) to a cotton pad and place it over the foam stain.
- 2Home Remedy15 minutes
Cover the cotton pad with plastic wrap or a small bag and leave it to soak for 15 minutes.
- 3Home Remedy
Check the progress regularly and gently scrape away the foam, bit by bit, using a blunt, firm tool like a nail file, an old plastic card, or a spatula.
- 4Home Remedy15–30 minutes
Apply colorless Fairy dish soap to the treated area for 15–30 minutes to remove any oily residue left by the Dimexide.
- 5Home Remedy
Rinse the area thoroughly under hot running water.
- 6Product
Wash the garment in a washing machine using a detergent containing enzymes, such as Bimax 100 Pyaten, Attack bioEX powder, or Freshbubble gel.
- 7Product
Add a laundry booster directly into the drum, such as Udalix oxygen powder, WowClean, Elizar, Belek, Dutybox, 100% sodium percarbonate, Antipyatin gel, Lavatute by Sile Chemicals, or liquid Perox for whites and light-colored items.
- 8Product
Alternatively, treat any remaining marks with a specialized stain-remover soap.
- 9Pro Tip
- Be aware that success is unlikely, as construction foam is designed to harden (vitrify) within 20 minutes of application. - Do not attempt to use solvents designed for hard surfaces, as they will not work on fabrics. - Always check the effect of Dimexide on a hidden area of the fabric first.
